Division Chief Rob Torrey started in the fire service as a volunteer in 1979 in Federal Way, Washington at the age of 16. After graduating high school, he attended Bates Technical College from 1983-1984 earning a firefighting degree. He was hired by the City of Redmond Fire Department in Washington in 1984. He served as a Firefighter/EMT, Driver/Operator, Lieutenant, Public Information Officer, Training Officer, and retired as a Captain with over 31 years of service. From 2016-2017, he served as the Fire Chief in Superior, Montana. In 2018, he joined Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue serving as the Training Officer and Volunteer Coordinator.
