Wildland Engine Boss -$22.50 to $24.33/hr approx. $4475-$4849 per month with benefits and housing as available ( Posted 2/10/2022) (Postion Closed)

Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue is currently recruiting to fill (3) positions of Wildland Engine Boss. These positions are focused on Wildfire suppression and mitigation. These positions are full-time (scheduled 46 hours per week), temporary/seasonal, with a typical duration of 4 months and sent on assignments as needed. The season is expected to begin in early June. 

The Position:

  • Direct and manage assigned firefighters, typically on Wildland Engines Type 6 or Type 3
  • Respond Initial Attack on fires within the Fire District and WUI, as a mutual aid resource to neighboring jurisdictions with 5 counties and on contract as needed with OSFM, ODF, or Forest Service. 
  • Conduct fuels mitigation projects within the District WUI as a part of the MCFR Community Risk Reduction Program and in areas of close proximity to The Dalles with Federal or State controlled property.

Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue is currently building an eligibility list for Firefighter/ Paramedic with Two (2) immediate openings. These positions are regular full-time and are not grant funded. This position requires a valid FireTEAM and a valid CPAT. The list for this position is open and continuous. As vacancies can occur at any time, the request for a list of candidates to consider can occur at any time or without notice.

The District requires the candidate Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ). You can access the questionnaire through your candidate account on the National Testing Network webiste. The PHQ must be completed by the closing date or you may not be considered further in the process.

Office Manager - Full Time (9/1/2020 - POSITION FILLED)

Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue is recruiting for an Office Manager; Full-Time (40 hours/week. M-F, 8:00am to 5:00pm with some evening meetings). This is an Overtime Exempt Position.
