In 2022, MCFR responded to over 4,000 calls with 107 Fires. The District employs structural firefighters, EMS personnel, and wildland firefighters to satisfy its mission. The wildland program is an important part of protecting the people and property within MCFR's Boundary. Valid Drivers License Must be able to pass the Arduous Pack Test. Must be able to complete and pass the MCFR Background Check process. Regular hours when not assigned to fires 4-8 hour days followed by 2 days off ENG Boss $23.15-24.33/hr ENGB Trainee 22.05/hr OT over 40 hours. Guaranteed assignment of 38/week average Direct and manage assigned Firefighters, typically on Wildland Engines Type 6 or Type 3 Respond Initial Attack on fires within the Fire District and WUI, as a mutual aid resource to neighboring jurisdictions with 5 counties and on contract as needed with OSFM, ODF, or Forest Service. Clear fuels within the District WUI as a part of the MCFR Community Risk Reduction Program. Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue is currently recruiting to hire (2) Paramedics. These positions are Single Role EMS. These positions are regular full-time with attractive benefits.

No experience necessary Must successfully complete MCFR's Wildland Firefighter Training Valid Drivers License Must be able to pass the Arduous Pack Test. Must be able to complete and pass the MCFR Background Check process. Regularhours when not assigned to fires- 4- 8 hour days followed by 2 days off OT over 40 hours. Guaranteed assignment of 38 hours per week average when not assigned to fires. $20/hr no paid experience $21/hr 2 years paid experience $22.05/hr 4 years or greater paid experience. Performs fire suppression operations under the supervision of an Engine Boss, typically assigned to Wildland Engines Type 6 or Type 3 Respond Initial Attack on fires within the Fire District and WUI, as a mutual aid resource to neighboring jurisdictions with 5 counties and on contract as needed with OSFM, ODF, or Forest Service. Clear fuels within the District WUI as a part of the MCFR Community Risk Reduction Program.
