Director Mike Cronin and his wife, Marta, relocated to The Dalles from Port St. Lucie, FL in July of 2018 with their two four-legged children, Chica and Twiggy. They, also, have two grown two-legged children that reside on the east coast of the country. Mike’s wife is currently the President at Columbia Gorge Community College. He has over twenty-five years experience in the installation, repair, maintenance and management of digital business phone systems and has, also, worked in technical support within the solar lighting industry. Mike spent his first year in Oregon working for the Oregon Food Bank, having had several years of volunteer experience at the Treasure Coast Food Bank in Florida. He has, also, spent time volunteering for college-sponsored community events both in Florida and Oregon. Director Cronin has been a board member for the Columbia Gorge Habitat for Humanity since May of 2020 and is part of the site selection committee tasked with locating properties suitable for new home builds. He brings determination, flexibility, dependability, and honesty with a can-do attitude to the Fire District Board.
